Lost Wax Bronze Sculpture

My class was assigned to sculpt an apple in wax with a condition or verb. I chose "medicated."

I bit my wax apple and hot-glued real capsule pills into the hole (the pills were my Mom's that she was throwing away but I stopped her).

Later, I "sprued" my apple with a treelike structure of wax. That would provide paths for molten bronze to flow and air to escape.

Then, I immersed the whole thing in plaster.

The pills and waxed were burned out in a kiln and left a negative impression for molten bronze to be poured in.

Next, we poured molten bronze into the moulds (20,000°F---really hot!)

Let it cool, and break away the plaster.

Removed the spruing and made it look like it was never there. Then I painted it (a glint of bronze can still be seen in the surface).

SO MANY STEPS, I probably forgot one. I wish I took pictures of the process but oh well! TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK.

Voici mon secret. Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.
